1. Product Description:
Semi-husked coconuts are mature coconuts with part of the husk removed to expose the "eyes" (germination pores) for inspection while retaining some fiber to protect the shell. These are commonly exported due to their extended shelf life and easy visual inspection.
2. Physical Characteristics:
Appearance: Round or oval-shaped; partial husk removed at one end
Color: Brown (mature) with fibrous husk at the base
Shell: Hard, intact, unbroken
Kernel: White, thick, and firm flesh inside
Coconut Water: Present and drinkable in good quality nuts
3. Weight:
Grade A (Export Quality): 500g – 650g per nut
Grade B: 400g – 499g per nut
Grade C: Below 400g or slightly deformed
4. Maturity:
Fully matured (11–12 months)
Ideal for consumption, oil extraction, and culinary uses
5. Moisture Content:
Low external moisture
Internal water content retained (20–25% of nut weight)
6. Shelf Life:
Fresh Conditions: 30–45 days
Cold Storage (10–15°C): Up to 60 days
